Inquiry:
It is suggested that information about the Foundation be obtained prior to submitting a proposal for funds so that those interested or desirous of receiving such funds have an understanding of the Foundation's mission and goals. The inquiry is not necessarily limited to a meeting, phone conversation, or other correspondence. Consideration can only be given for academic/health-related causes.
Proposal:
Proposals for funds are best requested without a sense of urgency-considerable notice is advised for the most serious consideration to be given which allows sufficient time for due diligence to be done by the Board of Trustees of the Foundation.
The proposal should be relatively brief but must include adequate detail describing the background/history and the financial request- knowledge of the program, goal to be achieved, and the justification for the financial request. Please indicate appropriate individuals, name of institution, charity, or other relevant persons and how contact can be made; use of identifying letterhead; and, any other pertinent information.
Dates for Review:
Proposals will be given full consideration only in April or in October of a given year. They need to be submitted for review by the Board of Trustees at least six weeks prior to April 1 or October 1. If a proposal is received less than six weeks of these times, consideration will be deferred until the next review month. For example, if a proposal is received March 3, it may be reviewed in October.
Range of Grants
Currently, the Foundation will consider grants up to a maximum of $5,000. Depending on the financial health of the Foundation, consideration is likely to be given to changing the maximum grant.
Review Process:
All proposals will be given full consideration and will be based on need so long as the proposal is submitted under the guidelines satisfying the Foundation's mission statement and within the parameters of the supporting organizations incorporated in the Foundations's Bylaws. Proposals will be reviewed in the order they are received. The funds must meet the appropriateness for their use and the decision of the Board of Trustees is final. No appeal process is available.
Response Time:
All proposals will receive a letter acknowledging its receipt. After review and consideration is complete, a formal response accepting, rejecting, or modifying the proposal will be sent to the applying party by May 1st or November 1st depending on the particular month of review.
Due diligence is required for each proposal which includes research, discussion, and decision-making.
